What You Can Do

WHAT YOU CAN DO:  Four Ways You Can Be of Service

HELP WITH MEALS:
Keep them stocked with wholesome, healthy foods. Check with the meal coordinator for dietary restrictions and preferences.

HELP WITH RIDES:
Getting to and from treatment in many American cities can be daunting. Help a person get to and from treatment safely and with ease. Organize a ride share for them or set them up with the American Cancer Society’s ride service.

HELP WITH FINANCES:
Connect families with the resources they need. Organize a fundraising campaign or apply for a grant for them. After treatments, families need help getting back on their feet if wages have been lost or they can’t immediately return to work.

HELP SUPPORT THE CHILD:
Children can often be forgotten in the equation of illness and grief. Helping them can give them a sense of empowerment and a place to express their feelings.
